  2.                Searches a file for a specific string of text.
  3.  
  4. The FIND command searches for a text string in a file or group of files.
  5. If no files are given, FIND reads standard input and can be used in a pipe.

  7. COMMAND TYPE: External                  VERSION: 2.0 and up
  8.  
  9. USE:  FIND [/V][/C][/N]"string" [[d:][path]filename...]
  10.  
  11. filename is the file to be searched, with optional drive and path.
  12.    Several files may be listed, but no wildcards are accepted.
  13. /V displays the lines that don't contain the requested string.
  14. /C displays the number of lines that contain a match of the string
  15. /N displays the number of each line that contains a match along with the
  16.    line of text.

  18. "string" is the string of text to search for.  It must be enclosed in
  19. quotes.  To include quotes in the string, use two sets e.g. "this is a
  20. ""quoted string"" "
  21.  
  22. If no parameters are entered, all lines that contain a match of the
  23. requested string will be displayed. The string must be an exact match
  24. (i.e the search is case sensitive).
